Conference Background

Since the first conference on God & Creation was held in January, 2004, an awakening has begun in East Africa. A growing consensus amongst prominent church leaders is pointing to a simple truth: As Christians we have an urgent and profound responsibility under God to care for creation!

Like other countries in Africa, Kenya now faces a range of significant environmental concerns which threaten the God-given beauty of the nation and the future of its people. In fact, a number of Christian leaders now admit that this crisis will impact Kenyans on a scale similar to that of the AIDS pandemic.

Ironically, this crisis has emerged in a region where the church has grown by leaps and bounds. A serious contradiction exists! While Christianity enjoys rapid growth, the health of Gods creation, which He entrusted to our care, has suffered rapid decline. What are the biblical foundations for environmental and agricultural stewardship? Why has the church failed to respond? How should we address this contradiction?

Come and spend three days with a large gathering of East African leaders to explore the answers to these questions and to be transformed by a biblical worldview on God’s creation. Together we can expand the awakening that has begun, and together we can glorify God as we seek to honor Him in responding to this crisis.

Conference Theme: God Delights in His Creation

Particular emphasis will be given to the celebration of African resources and wisdom.

Conference Presenters

10 or more respected authorities and practitioners from Africa and overseas will be presenting on the above topics.

Small Group Activities

In addition to plenary presentations, break-out sessions and small group activities will be conducted with a focus on the unique environmental and agricultural resources/issues of Africa.
