Care of Creation Projects

Care of Creation's purpose is to awaken and mobilize the church to respond to environmental challenges. When we say 'the church' we usually mean communities of believers who have gathered together for worship and ministry in a specific place.

We understand our role to be:

• helping the leaders and members of such communities to understand the environmental challenges affecting their community, and their responsibilities as Christians to be involved in responding to such challenges;
• providing them with tools and resources - practical, educational, financial - to respond intelligently and effectively to those challenges.
  

Our projects emphasize:

• the primary role of the indigenous church and local leaders: We seek to strengthen local leadership as we offer assistance and support; and
  
• solutions that are scienfically sound, ecologically sensible and economically viable.

We are operating in Kenya, to the northwest of Nairobi through an affiliate organization: Care of Creation-Kenya. We anticipate adding additional programs built on the model we're developing in Kenya. As our projects develop, there will be opportunities for intensive training through Care of Creation internships.

Care of Creation project staff are available for consultation with other organizations seeking to respond to creation-care needs in their own areas of ministry.
